Football Is Finally Here…A Very Unique Offer To Followers..!!

The Baseball season was nothing short of a disaster….We tried and tried but could never get a handle on baseball 2011 and as a result suffered our 2nd losing season in 19 years…After winning continously for so long, you start to become somewhat complacent, expecting to win all the time. It’s a rude awakening and a jolt back to reality, that this is in fact sport betting, a form of “gambling” in which anything can and eventually will happpen…

Many of you have been extremely kind to me during this period, offering many excuses for the losing season, most of you contributing it to my heart attack in December..I would like to think that was the case, but in all honesty I can’t say that except for a two week recuperating and resting period, I was still doing all the same things handicapping i did before the heart attack.

I have however dug deeply into a possible cause, and I do believe I have found it. You see I have ruled out the heart atttack as the excuse or cause because we did not have a real good basketball season either, (it was a winner however) and last football season although it was a winner was still below our normal performance levels.

To be a consistent winning handicapper, you must put in the time, effort, dedication to find the value to beat the book and win wagers. When you start to take time and effort away from the handicapping process, you will begin to suffer the consequences. This I believe is the real story as to what has happened to my performance the last 12 months.

I initiated a blog, a newsletter, a facebook fanpage, a twitter account and a new mail program..well, bottom line is that focusing that much attention to writing articles for a blog, writing a daily newsletter, posting on facebook, posting on my fan page, posting on my facebook sport talk page, writing articles for the newsletter, updating the website etc etc…has created the lack of performance by taking time and focus away from the actual handicapping process.

Many of my competitors have blogs, newsletters, fanpages, radio shows, tv shows, magazines etc….but the big difference here is that most of them have a staff of 10 to 30 or more people….I work alone…I have no staff no salespeople no handicappers. Trying to compete for the market through these various marketing and promotional tactics, I have found is just simply impossible for one person.

I will continue to have a blog and a newsletter and a facebook fanpage, but they will be updated and posted only when there is something important and will not be on a regimented time schedule….when i have time I will post.

Starting out this football season I am 100% focused and concentrating on Handicapping…!!! You have noticed that I have not been posting baseball for the past two weeks, your all probably saying thanks for that…I have been diligently working the football opening weeks in both college and NFL.

The lack of response to my Members Early Bird football season special was not surprising. Nobody wants to follow one who is not winning, and I of course have not been winning. I still have never had a losing football season and I feel confident that we will again have a good profitable football season…No guarantees of course but I am confident.

Big Bucks Betting Baseball…

Of all the betting sports, Baseball has got to be by far the most profitable of all. The number of games, the flexible money line and runline pricing all add to the additional profitability possibilities in baseball betting. The 3 way round robin parlay with 2 dogs and 3 favorites is one of my favorite bets in baseball. Runline parlays’, totals and moneyline parlay’s off the bettor many opportunities is used intelligently.

Unfortunately for most sport bettors..they don’t have enough hours in a day to be able to handicap a complete schedule of baseball games properly. With the exception of the rare few who handicap for a living, most sport bettors have other responsibilities such as a full time job that takes up many precious hours that would be needed for handicapping baseball.

Baseball players, although they are still considered part of a “team”, it is primarily an individual sport for statistical handicapping purposes. Unlike football where a passer has to rely on his lineman teammates to give him protection and his receivers ability to catch the ball, or running backs that need to have lineman open holes for them. Without team play, a quarterback would rarely complete a pass and a running back would never gain a yard rushing.

Baseball players have no-one helping them scoop up a ground ball, catch a fly ball or help them swing the bat. They stand alone on their own merits with the exception of double plays or relays they control their own statistical destiny. For this reason, handicapping baseball becomes a time consuming nightmare compared to handicapping “team sports”. If the same starting pitcher started every game with the same bullpen pitchers available every game and the same batting lineup played every single game, you could then handicap baseball based solely on overall “team statistics”.

Obviously this is not the case and statistically you must handicap each and every individual player on a day to day basis. The power rating of each player will make up the teams offensive and defensive probably for each game each day. We have at Tonydiamondsports.com had tremendous success for our clients and members showing big profits in baseball year after year. (we strive for 100+ units per year) Last year our clients earned 91.3 units or $9,130.00 profit for a $100.00 bettor. Our Vip members who use our Money management method did much much better than that.

Our success is attributed to having the knowledge, experience and the time to log every single players statistics every day and get a new power rating each day…We break down the offensive expectancy based on whether a team is at home, on the road, vs Lefty, vs righty, whether the pitcher is an A, B, C or D pitcher, whether the ballpark favors pitching or hitting, what opposing bullpen pitchers are available and then of course the subliminals such as hot streaks cold streaks, weather, injuries etc….

We formulate 17 different statistics daily which gives us a projected “final score” of the game showing us the potential winner, by how many runs and what the total will be. We do not make our decision on the “value” to the moneyline…we have a set of betting rules and we make our decision based soley on the projected final score of the game, not the posted money line. There will be a in depth explanation of our betting rules in our next article.

There are “Big Bucks Betting Baseball” but you had better have the time, the patience and the discipline to reap the rewards… Join us for our quest to 100+ units, watch for our Early Bird Baseball Season Special….

Sport bettors have various reasons for walking to a sport book window or clicking a link on a website to place a bet. For some it’s just a form of recreation, or a hobby or just the “need” to be in action to get the adrenaline flowing when watching a game on TV. Even the serious bettors who are in the game solely to make money lose sight of their objectives. Like in many other facets of life, goals play an important part at becoming successful. Just having a goal is not as important as making sure it is clearly identified.

Years ago after discharge from the Navy, I had no idea what I wanted to do for my life’s career. I wanted to play major league baseball and was actually signed by a major league team before I went into the service, but having spent 7 years in the military, that was no longer an option. I was very entrepreneurial and ambitious so I decided I would start my own business, but what kind of business, I had no idea. Being a risk taker, very promotion minded and very creative, I jumped around trying various little low cost startup businesses. One became very successful; at least that’s what I thought. After 11 years I had started several businesses, all of which appeared outwardly to be thriving. The bottom line was that I didn’t have any money in the bank. I went from business to business yet no money to show for it, yet all were created from scratch and were actual working businesses.

At a “chance” meeting one day I discovered something that would turn my business life around drastically. While having an after office cocktail at the Hilton Inn in Akron Ohio, I was seated next to a gentleman at the bar and we entered into some friendly conversation exchanging our business experiences. It turns out that he was a psychotherapist teaching at a local college. He made one comment about my business situation that stuck with me until this day…He said “it appears that your real goal is not making money, but the sensation of accomplishment”. In other words he explained that I might have thought my goal was making money when in fact it was really just starting a business and making it work regardless of how much money it made. It was the “feeling of accomplishment” that was subconsciously driving me. This explained why after a business I started was up and running I would lose interest and jump to another business. Had my goals been identified clearly that I wanted to become “financially independent”; I would have most likely put my efforts into working the business to make money.

Comparing my experience to sport betting I have recognized in more instances than I would like to think, that many, maybe even most sport bettors have achieved their goal by having a winning percentage regardless whether it made them any money. They brag about their winning percentage but neglect to tell you that they need to borrow taxi fare to get home. When you start to program your efforts to nothing but the bottom line of making money, you start to make smarter decisions, exercise good discipline, money management, bankroll management and of course the type of selections you’re looking to wager.

If your focus is soley on how many games you win or lose, or what your winning percentage is, just bear in mind that the bank will not accept a percentage as a deposit…cash is acceptable however…!!

Two big stories that have the media humming over this game, the return of Randy Moss and the re-emergence of LaDanian Thomlinson. Most feel that the Moss/Favre connection is all the Vikings need to get to the post season…hmmm, maybe half that statement is right, but Favre had better pick it up. The way he is playing right now, he shoudl have put more consideration into retiring.

I was not a believer in the Jets this season, in fact I recommended a future play that they wouldn’t win 9 games, I am biting tongue right now as I am rapidly becoming a believer that they in fact are for real…LT is the difference in this team being in the playoffs or just remaining a one dimensional defensive team. Looking at tonights matchup I have to lean toward this being a high scoring game. When I say high, I mean like over 40.0. The Viking game total average of 27 per game is very uncharacteristic and certainly will not keep that average very long…The Jets have been putting up some points this season. They are averaging 32.3 ppg in their last 3 games and the game totals in those 3 games was 49.3.

I don’t expect any drop off in offensive production from the Jets tonight but I do see a marked upward swing on offense for the Vikings. My old crystal ball is telling me that we see a 28-23 game tonight, which means of course the total goes over the posted 38.0

It’s been a very unusual start to the NFL season as many teams are playing above or below their projections. Eleven underdogs covered the spread and there were 8 upsets in week 3, that’s 50% of all games resulted in upset wins. Surprisingly we find Kansas City, Chicago and Pittsburgh the only 3-0 teams heading into week 4. The Chiefs and Bears are certainly suprises as both were projected to finish last in their respective divisions. Pittsburgh has to be checked as a surprise as they are doing it without their pro-bowl starting QB.

The five teams currently at 0-3 are not really surprising with the exception maybe of the 49er’s who have been touted this year as a favorite to win their division. Buffalo, Cleveland, Carolina and Detroit are not surprising, at least in my opinion. Carolina has had QB problems with injuries which certainly has added to their slow start. Minnesota and Dallas sitting at 1-2 could be considered surprising, but I expect Dallas to be in the hunt at the end. Minnesota is a big question mark. I believe Favre should have retired, he is not playing anywhere near his form of past years. I expect the Steelers to reamain as front runners, but the Bears and Chiefs will fall back to reality before it’s all over.

Based on the first 3 weeks, teams that should be taken seriuously are the Titans, Eagles and Houston, teams that may not have been projected as contenders, but could be in the hunt all season. A strange stat is that Arizona is -29 net points this year but have a 2-1 record, this of course is a result of their 41-7 loss to Atlanta in week 2. Watch for things to start to get back to normal in the NFL very quickly as bye week’s begin this week which will give some of these teams time to regroup and others to possibly lose their momentum.

Of the undefeated’s, Kansas City has a bye week so they will remain perfect at least until week 5, Pittsburgh will have a struggle with the Ravens, and the Bears will most likely lose their first game at NY Giants this week. The only winless teams that I see to have a chance of getting their first win would be San Francisco at Atlanta and that is certainly no given.

The Cincinnati Bearcats 40-7 win over Indiana St on Saturday was a bitter sweet victory as the Bearcats offense stuggled for 3 quarters of the game. They went into the lockeer room at half time amidst boos from the grandstand with only 12-7 They put up 28 points in the third quarter helped by a Indiana St fumble on the 10 yard line which led to one of Cincy’s scores. It appears that the 2 time big east champs are having some problems adjusting to new head coach Butch Jone’s new spread offense scheme. They struggled in their first game also, managing only 14 points in an upset loss to Fresno State.

To add to their offensive woes, they have lost their biggest big play threat when WR Vidal Hazleton went down with a knee injury in the Fresno game and is due for surgery and will be out the rest of the season. The Bearcats coaching staff has already begun to shake some things up on the offensive line as they suffered 8 sacks vs Fresno in their first game. They only had been sacked 15 times all of last season.

North Carolina State is off to a 2-0 start after a 28-21 upset win last week over Central Florida. The Wolfpack showed some solid defensive play forcing 5 turnovers including a 43 yard interception for a touchdown. They had a 21-0 lead at halftime but nearly blew it with a dismal 2nd half offensively being held scoreless and managing only 79 yards of total offense. UFC was on the way to what would have been the tying TD with 2:47 left when they coughed up the ball and NC State recovered and ran out the clock.

This might have been considered a look ahead game for Cincinnati as they will be facing Oklahoma next week, but based on their performance the first two games, I believe 100% focus will be on this game. They are 7-3 when a road dog ATS over the past 4 years, 17-9 as road favorite and 17-11 ATS overall. NC State is 5-1-1 when at home coming off a SU/ATS win versus a non-conference opponent. They are 2-7 when installed as a home favorite and 10-5 ATS as a home dog.

OPINION: This will be tough game to handicap as Cincinnati is obviously having problems with Butch Jones’s new offensive scheme and with NC State getting a very close win last based on the fact that their opponent turned the ball over 5 times. With Line being currently at a pick ‘em, is evidence that this is really a toss up game. I would expect that under normal conditions, Cincy could or should have been a TD favorite. Too Tough to call, just order a pizza and enjoy the game.
My T-Rating Line (adjusted): Cincinnati -1.03

Being Aware Of Game Situations Is Important To Winning

In Revenge:
UTEP @ Houston… Houston will be in revenge having been upset last year by UTEP 56-41 as a 14 point favorite…
Iowa St @ Iowa….Although it wasn’t an upset loss, Iowa State will be looking for revenge as their were somewhat humiliated last year getting beat by Iowa 35-3 on in front of their home crowd as only a 6.5 underdog.
Michigan @ Notre Dame…Even though they were just a small 3 point favorite last year, the Irish were upset by Michigan 36-24
UAB @ SMU….SMU will be looking for revenge having been upset last year by UAB 35-33 as a 11 point favorite.
Colorado St @ Nevada….Nevada will be in revenge when they host Colo St on Saturday. They were beaten soundly last year by the Rams 35-20 as a 4 point road favorite.
Arkansas St @ UL Lafayette….Lafayette was embarassed on their home field last year getting upset by Ark St 21-16 as a 13.5 home favorite.

Bounce Backs…Letdowns…Look Aheads
UAB @ SMU…UAB will be in a bounce back situation having got upset last week by Florida Atlantic as a 13.0 point favorite.
Buffalo @ Baylor…Baylor -16.0 could very well be looking past 5-7 Buffalo as they will be facing ranked TCU (12-1) next week
Kent St @ Boston Coll…BC could be overlooking non-conf foe Kent St (5-7) as they prepare to open conference play next week against highly touted Virginia Tech.
Mississippi @ Tulane…..The Rebels are most definetely in a bounce back situation and will try to wipe the egg off their faces as they were victims of the biggest upset of the opening week, losing to lowly Jacksonville St 49-48 as a 29 point favorite.
Louisville @ Oregon St….The Beavers of Oregon St might be looking to next week as they may be the last team on the schedule to hand 2nd ranked Boise a loss this year. They may not be in line for a national championship but if they could knock of Boise it would make their season.
Wyoming @ Texas…Texas could be in a look ahead situation this week as they will travel to Texas Tech to open conference play
Texas Tech @ New Mexico….The Red Raiders will be facing their toughest game of the season next week when they open conference play againt Texas. Focusing on lowly N. Mexico (1-11) will be very difficult under the situation. The 24.5 point spread might be a bit much for this game.
