“Why don’t the enforcers just establish a regulatory commission, tax the site proprietors and everyone will be happy. This ban hurts sport betting sites, handicapping services and the sport bettor”

Baseball: Some Home Teams You May Want To Avoid

Home teams do win more games than they lose, however, the lines will sway the earning potential when betting on these teams as more times than not they are installed as a favorite and lines can be prohibitive…but are many times a good bet when on the road.

Here are a few teams you may want to (Read full Article Here)

Playing March Madness Futures

When playing a future play of any kind, I always look for teams that have odds that will allow a “hedge bet” after the first round. I like to look for teams with double digit odds that have a realistic, although outside chance of getting to the final 8 or final 4. Even though you may not collect the win part of the future, you can still make money by hedging along the way…

For example: if you play a team with say 20/1 odds and they get past the first round and are now favored in the second round, you can always take the opponent at plus points and have a chance of staying alive with your future play and collecting your bet with the pointspread. With a 20/1 to you have flexibility with hedging. If you put say $100.00 on a 20/1, your payoff is $2000.00 if they win it all, however, you can hedge the second round at say $500.00 and if they lose you win your $500.00 bet thus giving you a $400.00 profit on your future bet….If they win you still are alive for the $2000.00 payoff and can now look agains to hedge in the next round and still make profit.

I like to pick my best 4 teams to play on the futures….here are my picks for this year….I will usually take the one team I figure to win it all plus my longshots with the good odds.

Handicapping March Madness

Handicapping the college basketball post season takes on a few different approaches from just picking the winners in the regular season…

The conference tournaments are usually all played at one venue and so one team will have the advantage of the home court, otherwise all games must be considered the same as road games. The conference tourny’s will sometimes be the deciding factor for teams getting into the big dance. Although many conferences have automatic bids that go to the winner of the tourny, some will still be vying for an “at-large” bid or a higher seeding, so it is important to take these situations into consideration when handicapping…

The “Real” Home Court Advantage

Getting The Edge…. With The “Real” Home Court Advantage

If you’re a regular sport bettor, I am sure you have experienced the frustration of watching what you thought to be a winning ticket go into the trash because of a one or two point loss to the spread. Getting the edge on the bookmaker and racking up the win many times can mean finding that 1 or 2 point advantage. Astute handicappers and sport bettors are constantly “shopping the line” on a game they have an interest in betting, looking for that ½ point that could swing a loser into a winner. One way to find that “edge” is knowing what the “real” home field/court advantage is for a given game matchup. Bookmakers will arbitrarily assign a 3 point line advantage to the home team in the NFL and NBA and 4 points to the home team in college matchups. (Read full Article Here)

NBA: The Key To Winning

The Key To Winning Betting The NBA

Even thought the NBA is considered a team sport, there are big differences from Football and Baseball where you have 22 players in football and 9 players in baseball. With only 5 starters, there is much more weight to put on individual players performance than other sports…

We have ran off 17 consecutive winning seasons in the NBA and I contribute that success to 3 key factors….(1) We rate every player with an individual power rating rather than just use overall team performance….(2) We use our own “real” home court advantage rating system which is the true home court advantage and not the arbitrary 3 or 4 points used by the linesmakers…and (3) because we have a rating for every player which measures the expected performance based on minutes played, we have a huge advantage when a key player is out of the lineup for a particular game.

It takes a lot of extra work….A Lot..!!, but it is all worth it if we are putting money in the bank year after year….Watch my blog updates as I will posting an article on how to make the player rating, figure the “real” home court advantage and make player ratings….Good Luck and let’s have a huge winning NBA season.
