CFB: Boise St @ Tulsa
I need not expound on the point that Boise St is looking to go undefeated this season currently sitting at 5-0 SU and 4-0 ATS…With the exception of maybe the Oregon game in week one, they have played a very weak schedule with Fresno being the only team with a winning record from a year ago (7-6)…On the other side of the coin, Tulsa comes in with a 4-1 record with their only loss coming at the hands of a highly ranked Oklahoma team 45-0. Boise is 9-10 as a road favorite versus a non-conference opponent and only 2-4 when favored by -7.0 to -9.5….Tulsa in the same situations as a home dog are 7-6 and 2-1 ATS….I would be looking at maybe playing the “over” (currently at 54.0) but the forecast calls for rain which might be a consideration when betting the total.
This is a very tough call…Giving Tulsa a TD and a field goal on their home field is a little scary even though statistically Boise could blow this team away. Tulsa was a 11-3 team last year but they have lost 5 starters on the offensive side of the ball. There production hasn’t slipped all that much in the first 5 games as they are averaging 41.0 ppg (not including the shut out loss to Oklahoma) compared to 47.0 ppg last season. Very tough to call so I will probably just pass the game, unless the weather forecast changes and I might consider a play on the over…

Tuesday Football: Ark St / UL Monroe
Arkansas St @ UL Monroe -2
This certainly isn’t one of the most exciting matchups of the season, but it should be competitive. Monroe has covered the last 3 meetings. Monroe is 2-0 in conference play with wins over Fla Atlantic and Fla International in their last 2 games. They don’t handle prosperity well however, as they are 1-4 in games following a straight up and against the spread wins. They are also 0-4 following a double digit win versus a .250< opponent. The visitors in this series have lost the last 4 and 5 of the last 6. Really not much to say about this game..I make the line Arkansas St -2.5 but I wouldn’t risk any of my bankroll on it.
MNF: NY Jets / Miami Dolphins
NY Jets -2.5 @ Miami Dolphins (36.5)
Much focus on the QB situation as Henne will be making only his second start of his young career and Sanchez making only his 4th start…
The Jets have been seeing most of the action this week and wouldn’t be surprised to see the books move the line to -3.0 by game time…It is not surprising the Jets are getting the action as they are 9-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings in this series and 6-0 when playing at Miami..They suffered their first defeat last week losing at N. Orleans 24-10…
Jets will also be in a revenge situation as it was the Dolphins on the final week of last season that handed the Jets a 24-17 loss at NY thus knocking the Jets out of the playoffs…
It should be somewhat of a “slow down” game as Miami will certainly focus on the running game where they lead the NFL with Ronny Brown and Ricky Williams…however this plays into the Jets defensive strength of being ranked 4th against the run while Miami is ranked 2nd against the run…The Jets have allowed only 3 td’s this season and this being done against 4 teams that are ranked in the upper 50% in the league….They have allowed 300 total yards only once this season and that was in the loss to N. Orleans where the Saints put up two defensive touchdowns. The defense should dominate in this game with 2 Qb’s with only 5 combined starts in the NFL. That coupled with a time consuming running game by the Dolphins this should be a low scoring event and I am going with the Under 36.5
Recommended Play: Under 36.5
The addition of Braylon Edwards from Cleveland should help the Jets offensively, but don’t look for him to have much of an impact tonight being his first game with the Jets.

CFB: Nebraska / Missouri
We have a Thursday “7 Pack”…MLB / CFB and 5 NHL Selections…
My first thought on this game was to jump on Missouri as a home dog of +3.0, but after digging into the stats and situations, I now have my doubts as to whether that is the right side..
Nebraska comes in at 3-1 and Missouri at 4-0, however the Tigers wins have come against one non-board team (Furman) and 2 teams with losing records from a year ago. The only team they defeated that had a winning record was Nevada who was 7-6. (Read full Article Here)

Terrible Bad Beat On Saturday
We had posted that Ball State was what we call a linesmakers mistake and they, in my opinion should have been the favorites instead of being a 5 point home dog….They had the game covered all the way from the 6 minute mark of the first quarter till the last last 3 minutes of the game. They took the lead with 0:45 seconds left in the 4th quarter, only to squib the kickoff giving the ball to Toledo on the Ball State side of the field…With just 0:25 seconds left, Toledo threw a 59 yard desperation pass which was caught for a TD….That’s what they call a back door cover
